This year, we are very pleased to host the second part of this exchange. In photography, Zone System is a technique to define correct exposure. It is believed to work in any kind of lighting situation. In university, we have the assessment system to e valuate academic performance and name the best students. As for artistic creation, is there such a system to define what is best? <Zone Out> is an exhibition of 2 0 tests. The tests result from young artists practicing photography and related media at the Korean and Hong Kong Universities. They explore a diverse range of subject, from social value, gender to identity; from time , daily life to intimacy; from memory, youth, dream to family; from perception, artificial landscape to the use of video and the photographic medium. This exhibition helps us to understand not just how students in the two geographic regions per form. Above all, it reveals what they are testing and seeking in their youthful lives while they seemed to zone out in the classroom.
